The Tysinger Wedding

I have never been more in love with Jackson than I was on our wedding day. I remember feeling so nervous that morning, eager to finally see him. Without realizing the blinds were open, he pulled up outside the bridal suite. I caught one quick glimpse of the back of his head before remembering I wasn't supposed to see him yet — and somehow, that tiny moment calmed my whole being. I knew without a doubt that I was marrying the right one.
Every part of our wedding day was intentional. From the beginning, I told our vendors that I wanted the day to be about connection — with each other and with the people we love. I had always dreamed of a winter wedding, but instead of the traditional whites and greens, I chose a more romantic palette of pinks and burgundies, paired with black formalwear for our guests. We wanted the day to feel elevated, romantic, and completely us.

A Day Full of Meaning
The morning was filled with so many details. My bridesmaids got ready in matching monogrammed denim shirts, and while we were getting ready, I gave my mom a diamond cross necklace made from stones in my great-grandmother's ring. I also carried a bouquet charm with “Hannah Mae” written in my papa's handwriting so I could keep a piece of him close throughout the day.
Our ceremony was officiated by my uncle, who we lovingly call “Uncle Iron Man." His daughter was the one who first brought Jackson and me together, so having him marry us felt like a full-circle way to begin our marriage. We also invited our parents to pray over us and shared communion using my parents' original wedding cup.
We intentionally built moments into the day that gave us time to pause. I had first looks with my dad and my brother before seeing Jackson, and after our first look, we exchanged private letters. With so much happening around us, those quiet moments gave us a chance to slow down and take in what the day actually meant.
A Little Sentiment, A Little Rivalry
Before our wedding, Jackson's grandfather gifted him a pristine 1968 Ford Mustang convertible. After Jackson's grandfather passed, his parents had the engine restored, and it became one of the most meaningful details of our wedding day.
Of course, we couldn't leave out the Alabama-Auburn rivalry. During our first look, I surprised my dad with a houndstooth tie, complete with a hidden photo of us from when I was a flower girl. For our father-daughter dance, I surprised him again by choosing “Sweet Home Alabama,” and we couldn't help but shout “Roll Tide Roll" in front of Jackson's clan of Auburn fans.
Where Coordination Began
By the time our wedding day arrived, I had already spent years working in the wedding industry as a photographer and second shooter, but planning my own wedding gave me a completely different perspective. I had a vision for our day, and I loved bringing it to life.
I built the timeline, communicated with vendors, created and sourced our decor, and probably thought about the logistics more than I'd like to admit. I loved being involved in the details and watching everything come together. I got to create the kind of wedding I had always dreamed about. But I also got to experience something just as important: letting someone else take care of it all.
Our coordinator supported the vision I had worked so hard to create and gave me the freedom to simply be the bride. I didn't have to wonder if the timeline was moving, answer vendor questions, or worry about what needed to happen next. I got to be fully present and actually enjoy the day I had spent so much time planning.
That experience changed the way I looked at coordination. I realized that I didn't just love the details, logistics, people, and problem-solving that happen behind the scenes; I loved creating the kind of space where couples can be fully present for the moments they've spent so much time planning.
That is the heart behind my passion for wedding coordination — giving other couples the opportunity to experience their wedding day rather than manage it.
